My name is Sonny DeFeo, and I've had the privilege of dedicating over 15 years of my life working in the golf industry, with over 10 years teaching the game of golf. With a deep-rooted passion for sports and athletic motion, I have honed a comprehensive understanding of various athletic techniques, not just in golf, but across a wide range of sports. This knowledge allows me to effectively teach individuals of all ages and skill levels, helping them reach their full potential in a way that is both fun and challenging.
From a young age, I was always drawn to sports. The intricacies of motion, form, and the mental focus needed to excel have always fascinated me. Over the years, this fascination evolved into a career, and I began to share my passion with others. I've had the pleasure of teaching both children and adults, from beginners to advanced players, and I have seen firsthand how sports can have a profound impact on one's life-whether it's building confidence, fostering discipline, or simply providing an outlet for enjoyment.
In addition to teaching recreational players, I have worked with high school and college athletes, preparing them for tournaments and higher level play.I believe that a key component of success, both on and off the course, is mental toughness. Helping my students develop a strong, positive mindset has always been a priority in my teaching. I always emphasize the importance of focus, resilience, and enjoying the process of learning. Because when you enjoy what you are doing, you perform better and build a stronger connection to the sport.
Throughout my career, I have come to realize that sports are more than just games-they are life lessons in motion.The skills you learn, the challenges you face, and the growth you experience all transcend the playing field. My ultimate goal as an instructor is not only to improve my students athletic abilities, but to instill in them a mindset of perseverance, positivity, and fun!
